REVIEW: Xenoholics #1 and #2
(This review will cover elements from both #1 and #2) Xenoholics is a prime example of what happens when you have a great idea, but fall short on the execution of that idea. The story revolves around a group of … Continue reading

REVIEW: Ghostbusters #3
This series is amazing. It’s well written, well drawn, and has a ton of positive energy. You can tell that the team involved in bringing this series from concept to print is pouring everything they have into it. If you … Continue reading

REVIEW: Suicide Squad #3
The story here continues from the last issue. The Squad tries to lay low while waiting for their ride and protecting the package. Too bad there’s a bounty on their heads and Mad Dog is trying to collect. The issue … Continue reading

REVIEW: 30 Days of Night #2 (ongoing)
I bought this issue not expecting very much. I really wasn’t impressed with the last issue: Bad writing, bad characterization, and poorly done art. I felt the book hadn’t been thought out and was hastily brought to press. I can … Continue reading

REVIEW: The Theater #2
In an attempt to save Borden Theater, the owner’s daughter holds a major movie premiere, despite this being against her father’s wishes (sort of). The premiere succeeds and the theater is allowed to remain open. That’s all we get as … Continue reading
REVIEW: Batman: The Dark Knight #2
First off, I love the cover of the book. Nice action going on with the flavor text “The Fury of Two-Face” in the corner. It’s not often these days you get flavor text on the cover to draw you in. … Continue reading

The Writing Bug
Now that I have started writing comic reviews, I’ve got my fiction writing bug. I have a much bigger project in mind, but first I’ll start with a prequel to that project. More details later, but the prequel will be a very short story that will set the stage for the longer short. The longer short may only be a short story, or it may take on a life of its own and turn into a short novel much like The Cleansing Rose did. I would love for the later to happen, but we’ll see. For now, I give you only the title of this prequel: Continue reading

Unseasoned Comic Nerd
If you couldn’t tell, I’ve started writing comic book reviews. A few things led to this as I didn’t used to read comics. It started with to a trip a local comic shop with a friend. There, I picked up … Continue reading
REVIEW: 30 Days of Night #1
Just a little background on myself, I have never read anything 30 Days of Night. Crime against comics? Probably. But I picked this one up hoping for something great, but I was left with disappointment.
